Terms of Service

Welcome to Unipool. These terms govern your use of our app. By using Unipool, you agree to these terms in full. If you don't agree to any clause, please do not use the app.

1. Nature of the Service

Unipool is a matchmaking platform only between university students who want to share commutes to and from campus. We are not a transportation company, not a delivery service, and not a party to any agreement between drivers and passengers. We provide the technology that lets you connect with each other — nothing more.

Any ride between users is at their own personal responsibility. Unipool is not responsible for vehicle quality, driving style, delays, accidents, or any disputes that arise between parties.

2. Eligibility

• You must be a student at an accredited Egyptian university.
• You must be at least 17 years old.
• You must have full legal capacity to enter into contracts.
• You must provide truthful and accurate information at signup.

3. Driver Obligations

• You must hold a valid Egyptian driving license.
• The vehicle must have valid mandatory insurance.
• You must comply with all Egyptian traffic laws.
• Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
• Treat passengers with respect at all times.
• Stick to agreed pickup times or notify in advance of any delay.

4. Passenger Obligations

• Be at the pickup location at the agreed time.
• Respect the vehicle and the driver.
• Honor any conduct rules set by the driver (smoking/non-smoking, etc.).
• Notify the driver immediately if you need to cancel, ideally with reasonable notice.

5. Fuel Contributions

Unipool is a completely free service. We take no commission from drivers or passengers. If a driver requests a fuel contribution, that is a voluntary agreement between you. Unipool is not responsible for any payments made between you and does not provide a payment mechanism.

6. Cancellations and No-shows

Cancellation is allowed any time before the ride starts, but we apply a penalty system to users who repeatedly cancel after a match is confirmed. Frequent cancellations reduce your score in our matching algorithm.

7. Prohibited Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited:

• Using the app for commercial purposes (regular paid transport).
• Providing false information or impersonating someone else.
• Harassing any user in any form.
• Contacting other users outside the app before a confirmed match.
• Attempting to hack the app or our servers.
• Posting offensive, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content.
• Any activity in violation of Egyptian law.

Any violation will result in immediate account suspension.

8. Safety for Women

If you're a woman, Unipool has built an additional safety layer for you. You'll see a list of drivers before any match is finalized, and your information is not exposed to anyone without your explicit approval. If you feel uncomfortable, tap the "Report" button in-app and we'll act immediately.

9. Advertising

The app shows ads via Google AdMob — this is what allows us to keep the service free. You can choose between personalized and non-personalized ads from settings. See our Privacy Policy for details.

10. Intellectual Property

The Unipool name, logo, design, and code are our property. Copying or reusing any part of the app without explicit written permission is prohibited.

11. Disclaimer

Unipool provides the service "as is" without warranties, express or implied. We do not guarantee:

• That you'll get a match every time you request one.
• That the matched user will keep to the agreed time or behavior.
• That the app will operate without interruption.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Egyptian law, Unipool and its team are not liable for:

• Any accident or injury during a ride between users.
• Any dispute, conflict, or financial loss between drivers and passengers.
• Any indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the app.
• The actions of any other user.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Unipool and its team for any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your breach of these terms or your conduct on the app.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. For material changes, we'll notify you in-app 30 days before they take effect. Continued use means acceptance.

15. Account Termination

You can delete your account anytime from settings. We reserve the right to suspend or delete any account that violates these terms without prior notice.

16. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Egyptian law. Any dispute arising from use of the app falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of Egyptian courts.
